Job Summary/Description:

KALB, the dominant #1 station in Alexandria, Louisiana, is seeking a dynamic and driven Weekend Meteorologist or Forecaster to join our Team for both broadcast and digital. This position will include fill-in opportunities for weekday weathercasts, along with MMJ duties with a focus on weather/environmental and some general assignment reporting.

Weather forecasting for Saturday, 6 pm and 10 pm news, and Sunday, 10 pm news. When not filling in on weekday weathercasts, you will MMJ three days during the week with a focus mainly on weather, environmental, and scientific news topics.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- A degree in journalism, communications, broadcast, or a related field is required.
- Strong writing, speaking, and communication skills.
- Good on-camera presence for both live and pre-recorded shots.
- Must be able to meet daily news deadlines and work well under pressure during breaking news and severe weather events
- Understanding of and adherence to journalism ethics and using AP Style
- Knowledge of ENPS and Edius is a plus
- Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
