Location: Newington
This position is eligible to apply for telework after successful completion of the working test period, and thereafter, in accordance with the Telework Policy. The Policy can be found here. Employees in their initial working test period must work on site in the office.
THE ROLE
As a Transportation Planner 1 (Performance Analyst), you will turn data into actionable insights, support performance measurement, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Candidates may bring expertise in data analysis and storytelling, process improvement, or program evaluation—and will have opportunities to expand their skills across these areas. You will collaborate with colleagues across the organization to identify opportunities for improvement and help implement solutions that enhance transportation systems, ultimately improving the lives of Connecticut residents. This position offers the chance to develop advanced analytics skills, contribute to high-impact projects, and grow within a forward-thinking team dedicated to continuous improvement.

Requirements
Six (6) years of professional experience in transportation civil engineering or transportation, urban, regional or environmental planning.
College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
A Master's degree in a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
For state employees three (3) years of experience as a Transportation Planning Assistant 2 or Transportation Engineer Technician may be substituted for the General Experience.
Successful completion of a Connecticut Careers Trainee program approved by the Department of Administrative Services may be substituted for the General Experience.
