| The Tools and Parts Attendant performs shop supply services to attain materiel required to support the MMD mission. Tasks include but are not limited to requisitioning and receiving supplies, verifying accuracy of shipments, reporting discrepancies, storing, and maintaining accountability of CL II, III, IV, VII, and IX items, performing inventories, and issuing supplies. - Provide professional, courteous service to customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Assist with ordering needed stock including, but not limited to:
- Office supplies: pens, note pads/books, markers, highlighters, and paper.
- POL; motor oils, greases, cleaners, and other fluids
- Service parts; air, fuel, oil, and hydraulic filters, batteries, exterior light bulbs, trailer marker lights, tires
- Repair parts; bolts, nuts, cutting edges, alternators, pumps, repair manuals.
- Small arms parts; barrels, triggers, sights
- Receive shipped supplies, verifying accuracy of shipments, shipping out of incorrect, excess, or recoverable material.
- Work with maintenance mechanics, production control, vendors and maintenance supervisor to research needed material; using internet searches, vendor online portals, parts catalogs, and phone calls to vendor points of contact to complete repair jobs in required time at best cost to the customer.
- Use of the following to perform above duties, including operator maintenance on all used equipment (cleaning, lubricating, and refueling):
o Carts o Hand trucks o Dollies o Pallet jacks o Trucks up to 5000lbs, to pick up material from local vendors within 150 miles of Dugway Proving Grounds that do not offer delivery. o Forklifts up to 15,000lbs, to offload material shipments from Motor Pool or vendor trucks, and weekly emptying of tip dumpster. - Assist with database updates for local vendors with account information, cage codes,and preferred point of contact (name, phone number, and email address)
- Updating a local database of outstanding local, and supply system orders to track equipment downtime; broken down by month, account, and supply class with running totals and averages.
- Updating a government share drive database of outstanding and received orders, broken down to show individually order material with costs, to help track and reduce material lead time.
- Supply hard or digital copies of databases as reports for monthly logistics meeting.
- In processing locally purchased parts to GCSS-A, ensuring all prices and vendor information is correctly added.
- Maintain GCSS-A inventories of stocked material, ensuring necessary stock level of critically needed material does not fall below safety levels, including:
o Performing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual counts o Spot inventories of batteries, bench stock, filters, hazardous/flammable material, POL, repair parts, and small arms repair parts - Use GCSS-A to order all material that crosses with a National Stock Number (NSN) using proper priority codes to ensure proper turnaround time, and mitigation of re-work.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities No direct supervisory duties. Physical Demands Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible. Noise level can range from minimal to intense. |
| Minimum Qualifications - High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must possess three plus (3+) years experience in maintenance repair parts and warehouse operations.
Must possess knowledge of a wide variety of tools. Must possess knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures. Must be able to perform common operations of a tools and parts room. Must possess basic skills with computers used for reports, documents, email, and internet. Must have strong organizational skills. Must possess multi-tasking and time management skills. Must have computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Possess a Valid Drivers License without special restrictions. Security Requirements Must be a US Citizen. Must undergo a background check. Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and work the assigned shift hours. |
