Description
Position Overview: The Staff Accountant supports the Director of Finance in carrying out a variety of accounting and financial operations. This role is primarily responsible for payroll support, accounts receivable and payable, and reconciliations. By contributing to multiple areas of financial administration, the Staff Accountant plays a key role in advancing the Conservancy’s mission to preserve and protect Glacier National Park for future generations.

Location: Hybrid | Columbia Falls, MT*
*This position primarily works from home but must reside in the Flathead Valley to be able to work in the Columbia Falls office on a regular and as-needed basis.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, including payroll processing. Degree in Accounting (or related) required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with QuickBooks required
- Experience in nonprofit accounting preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Strong understanding of day-to-day financial operations
- Experience in audit preparation and process preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently to meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills and the ability to master new programs quickly
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Glacier National Park Conservancy
