The client offers a full spectrum of water, waste, and energy management services, including water and wastewater treatment, commercial and hazardous waste collection and disposal, energy consulting, and resource recovery. The client helps commercial, industrial, healthcare, higher education, and municipality customers throughout North America. Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing:
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes employee engagement, development, and retention.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to site-level personnel while supporting cross-training and team development.
- Implement employee recognition programs and address employee concerns promptly and effectively. Generally supervise a staff of at least 5 FTEs.
- Champion a culture of safety excellence by implementing and enforcing safety protocols, procedures, and best practices across the site.
- Conduct regular safety training programs and promote individual accountability for safe work practices.
- Monitor and report on site-level safety performance metrics, including incident rates and near-misses.
- Ensure site operations comply with environmental, health, safety, and operational regulations, as well as contractual obligations.
- Maintain communication with regulatory agencies and stay current on compliance requirements.
- Implement corrective actions and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve compliance issues.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, reliability, and high-quality performance.
- Monitor operational performance metrics and proactively address risks or issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage water/wastewater facilities up to 5 MGD.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
- Represent the company at client meetings, including local boards or community engagements.
- Support financial performance by identifying cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting on key financial metrics.
- Optimize resource utilization and improve processes to reduce downtime and increase efficiency.
Work Environment:
- Spends 60% of time in the operations environment and 40% of time in the office environment at the site.
- Attends client meetings (e.g., city council, utility board, or internal management).
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and operating a company vehicle as needed.
- Occasional travel for training or meetings.

Requirements

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Must be able to obtain required certifications.
- MA Wastewater Grade 6C (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe) is required.
Education/Experience/Background:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is strongly preferred but not required.
- 5 years of leadership experience, including at least 3 years leading a small team, with a focus on hands-on leadership and operational oversight.
- Experience in water/wastewater treatment operations or a similar industrial environment is strongly preferred.
