Senior Project Manager, Korean Services

At SFW Korea Services, we support power producers in maintaining, upgrading, and modernizing their industrial facilities to achieve their operational, environmental, and business objectives.

Since 1980, Sumitomo SHI FW has delivered 37 CFB boiler projects in Korea. In 2012, we established our local Services organization to provide long-term support for these valuable assets. Since then, we have helped boiler owners maximize reliability, availability, and performance through our extensive expertise in thermal power generation.

As our Services business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead modernization projects, drive successful execution, and help our customers achieve their long-term energy production goals.

The role - Senior Project Manager, Korean Services

As part of our strategy to expand our Services business in Korea, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the successful execution of major service and modernization projects.

As Senior Project Manager, Korean Services, you will drive the execution of larger projects by

• Developing needed competences and capabilities for making SFW Korea Services stronger local provider
• Managing Korea Services project execution operations
• Taking responsibility and demonstrating high HSSE performance on customers sites
• Working closely with customers, vendors, subcontractors and other stakeholders relevant to successful project execution
• Ensuring customer quality expectations are met
• Co-operating with SFW's talents worldwide to bring best value to our customers

As a member of our Services business function, you will also participate e.g. in

• Strategy direction
• Internal operation processes development
• Sales and marketing support
• Ways of working development
• Contracting model definitions
• Partner management and
• Operations management

In this role you will report to "Vice President, Technology modernizations and Upgrades" and be located in Gunsan, Republic of Korea with remote work from home - including domestic and international travel.

To be successful in this role, we expect

• University degree in relevant field
• Several years' project management experience of larger projects in a client facing role
• Proven knowledge and track record of project execution
• Experience of Korean business environment
• Strong plus if You already have an understanding of the energy industry and its' value chains and value generating mechanisms, as well how technologies add value to customers business in it. At least you have a great appetite and capability to learn this fast based on your earlier experience.
• Some experience from maintenance and service business
• You are keen on building strong relationships both externally with customers & partners and internally with colleagues cross-functionally
• You enjoy multitasking & challenges and are a high achiever with positive, can-do mentality and integrity
• You have sound judgement and the ability for independent evaluation and decision-making
• Fluent in English and in Korean language
