Role Responsibilities

Perform required testing on a variety of samples, maintain appropriate documentation, and assist with laboratory maintenance.

• Daily testing of raw material, in-process batch and finished product samples
• Routine environmental testing
• Packaging of various samples for shipment
• Miscellaneous testing as needed
• Report results/discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain lab records to ensure proper product traceability.
• Maintain calibration/verification records of all lab equipment.
• Adhere to requirements of ISO system
• Verification/calibration of lab equipment
• Routine equipment maintenance
• Assist with lab supply inventory management
• Retain samples in accordance with requirements of quality management system
• General housekeeping of lab
• Support 5S program
• Ensure the cleanliness, organization and good working order of all laboratory facilities and equipment.
• Interact positively with visitors to the Cruzan Rum Distillery including visitors to the tour program, corporate visitors, and VIPs.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards by following established procedures, participating in audits, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and environmental performance.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field and at least one-year proven experience in an analytical lab, Quality Control environment or similar role or;
• Associates degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years proven experience in an analytical lab, Quality Control environment or similar role or;
• High School diploma and at least 3 years' experience in an analytical lab or Quality Control environment or strong background in college level science
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and practices
• Must be willing and able to taste beverages containing alcohol
• Computer proficiency, with good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook

• Workday will involve activities that vary throughout the day and will be both in an office or lab environment, as well as in a manufacturing facility.
• Exposure to excessive heat & humidity, intermittent to constant noise, vibration, dust and slippery or uneven walking surfaces
• Occasional exposure to confined spaces. Need to climb stairs as required
• Occasional exposure to chemicals, solvent, acids and electrical energy
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
