LEGAL ASSISTANT
REPORTS TO: Deputy Director and Staff Attorneys
SUPERVISES: N/A
COORDINATES/COLLABORATES WITH: Legal Team and OSSBA Staff
JOB GOAL: Assists with the delivery of legal services to OSSBA members
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
Provides clerical, organizational and administrative support for the following teams:
- Policy Services, including preparation of documents for members
- Employment Services, including maintenance of the online HR library
- Title IX Services, including assistance with scheduling, proposals and reports
- Advocacy Services, as needed
Provides customer service and support for OSSBA members.
Assists as part-time receptionist when needed.
OTHER DUTIES:
Cross-trains with the Administrative Assistants for Policy Services and a second Administrative Assistant for Legal Services.
Assists with additional projects and priorities of the overall OSSBA team.
Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Walk, bend, kneel, and reach.
Sit for extended periods of time at a desk to perform job functions.
Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Read, write, and interpret written documents.
Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with others.
Manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment.
ENVIRONMENT: This position involves a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues. The legal suite is located on the second floor of the building, and an elevator is available. Occasional travel may be required.
EVALUATION: This position will be evaluated annually by the Deputy Executive Director and a Staff Attorney.
SALARY RANGE: $16-19/hour, based on the successful candidate’s experience
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Effective communication skills, including knowledge of grammar rules
Ability to exercise tact, discretion and confidentiality in the performance of duties
Quality customer service skills
Knowledge of office software, technology and tools, including AI programs that promote efficiency
Exceptional typing proficiency and speed
Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
Other appropriate qualifications as determined by the Executive Director
