Laconia Country Club is seeking a motivated and career-minded turf professional to join our golf course maintenance team as a Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent .

The successful candidate will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents and will gain experience in all aspects of golf course management, including turfgrass agronomy, crew supervision, irrigation, fertility, plant protection, equipment operation, course setup, and daily maintenance planning.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Second Assistant position is designed for an individual with a solid foundation in golf course maintenance who is ready to take on greater responsibility.

As your knowledge and abilities develop, you will have increasing responsibility for:

• Daily work planning and crew organization
• Supervising, leading, and training maintenance staff
• Mowing practices and quality control
• Irrigation and water management
• Turfgrass fertility and plant protection
• Disease, insect, weed, and environmental stress identification
• Aeration, topdressing, seeding, and other cultural practices
• Hand watering and detailed turf management
• Golf course setup and tournament preparation
• Equipment operation and maintenance
• Winter operations and snow removal
• Maintenance records, inventory, and special projects

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous golf course maintenance, turf, landscaping, or related experience required.
• Two or more years of golf course maintenance experience preferred.
• Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related education preferred but not required.
• Experience operating specialized golf course maintenance equipment preferred.
• Basic understanding of turfgrass management and cultural practices.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pesticide applicator license preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
