FTE: 13% (5 hrs/week)

Compensation: $20 per hour and $1,500 scholarship for the academic year

Job Summary
The ENV teaching Graduate Assistant will support classes and facilitate educational projects in collaboration with ENV faculty. The department would prefer a candidate who can fill those roles for both fall and spring semesters.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with large and/or logistically complex undergrad classes in the ENV BA program: Actual courses assigned may depend on number of students enrolled
• GA for ENV 363: Indigenous Env. Issues (spring)
• GA for ENV 350: Nature, the Sacred, and Contemplation (fall)
• GA for ENV 223 Field Ecology (fall) or new course not yet finalized
Assist with coordinating events for ENV students, create fliers, work on web site, help with research

Qualifications Naropa Would Prefer in Candidates for this Position
• Priority given to Ecopsychology MA students.
• Graduate student from any department is acceptable if student has BA in Environmental Studies or a related field.
• First-year graduate student from any other department is acceptable.
• A background in Environmental Studies and related areas is preferred.
• Some teaching experience preferred.
• Research experience and social media knowledge desirable

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

In the classrooms and on campus may experience: interruptions, distractions, heat, cold, dust and/or dampness. As a graduate assistant, you may spend extended periods time with any of the following:
• Reading academic texts and materials, student papers, etc.
• Operating personal computer and audio-visual equipment.
• Standing or sitting for hours at a time.
• Moving around campus for classes and meetings.
