Description
OverviewEntrada at Snow Canyon Country Club is seeking a full-time Golf Course Superintendent to lead all aspects of golf course maintenance and club landscaping. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining turfgrass conditions and overall course presentation while promoting a high-level member and guest experience in a private club environment.
Experience Required
Minimum qualifications and preferred skills include:
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and two to five years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, or plant and soil science.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Pesticide license preferred; pesticide application license listed in certificates/licenses.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and speak English as needed to perform job duties.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to self-start.
- Independent thinker able to manage changing priorities and schedules.
- Available for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop annual budgets and capital plans for review and approval by the General Manager, Finance Committee, and Board of Trustees, and manage department expenses.
- Maintain awareness of agronomic activity on the course and provide feedback and direction to staff.
- Plan, organize, and direct all agronomy activities and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, transition areas, and club landscaping.
- Implement Troon Golf Agronomy standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Supervise planting and cultural practices for turfgrasses, trees, and ornamental plants.
- Ensure proper mixing, calibration, and application of chemicals and fertilizers.
- Provide timely and accurate financial and non-financial reporting.
- Ensure maintenance equipment is properly maintained.
- Reconcile and code invoices, payroll, and other required documents.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and government regulations are followed.
- Provide orientation and training for new associates and develop ongoing training programs.
- Implement safe work practices and sound purchasing procedures.
- Ensure associates obtain proper training and licenses and address environmental concerns.
- Interview, hire, train, assign work, evaluate performance, reward, discipline, and resolve employee issues.
- Promote effective communication within the department and across departments.
- Provide leadership and a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, communication, ethical behavior, cleanliness, and a can-do attitude.
- Directly supervise staff that may include Assistant Superintendent, Second Assistant Superintendent, Head Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician.
