Field RepresentativeField Representative

We have an opening for a Field Representative to join our Transportation Engineering Department in our Savannah, GA office.
Typical Duties:
- Performs routine construction inspection services for Transportation projects involving utilities, drainage, grading and pavement construction.
- Serves as a liaison between the Client or Project Manager and contractor.
- Assists Project Managers in effectively administering construction contracts.
- Seeks appropriate guidance in resolving various project-related issues.
- Prepares project related correspondence as appropriate.
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Manages time effectively in order to meet project deadlines and client needs.
- Visits project sites to inspect conditions as appropriate.
- Attends and participates in meetings on behalf of the company with clients, contractors or resource agencies as appropriate.
- May arrange and conduct job progress meetings.
- Maintains daily job log and is completely familiar with plans and specifications.
- Other duties as necessary and/or assigned by supervisor.
- Overnight or extended travel may be required for occasional projects pending locations.
Education: Construction Management Degree or High School Diploma and equivalent experience.
Experience: 3+ years experience with transportation construction.
Skills:
- Familiar with erosion, sedimentation, and pollution control, CEPCI certification a plus.
- Familiar with roadway construction and utility installation.
- Ability to understand project plans and specifications
- Strong communication, verbal and written skills
- Ability to produce concise digital reporting and calculations needed for pay quantities.
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred:
- Graduation from a university with a degree in Civil Engineering or from a four-year college with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology
- Experience installing or witnessing and testing asphaltic and concrete paving.
- Experience installing or witnessing and testing roadways and earthworks
