- Environmental Engineer/ Project Manager
Description
Excalibur Group LLC | Pennsylvania (fully remote, occasional site travel)
We're a small, 30-year old environmental consulting firm — not a corporation, and not interested in five rounds of interviews just to tell you you're "overqualified." We need one really good person.
What the work actually looks like:
We send you an assignment. You review it — does the scope make sense, is the pricing right — and send us your evaluation, in writing. We talk it through as a team before it goes to the client. You'll work independently, but you won't be on an island: you're learning how we do this at the next level, with the goal of eventually owning pieces of it yourself.
What we need:
- PA Professional Engineer (PE)
- Solid background in PA UST regulations and environmental consulting
- Self-motivated — comfortable taking an assignment and running with it
- Strong, clear writing — you'll be putting your judgment in email and reports regularly
What you get:
- Real flexibility: work from home, build your schedule around your life
- $60–$100/hour to start, part-time with a genuine path to full-time
- Profit-sharing from day one, and a real path to ownership as you grow with us
- A small team where your work actually matters
Responsibilities:
- Serve as project manager and primary client contact — from receipt of assignment to final deliverable
- Third-party technical reviewer for petroleum release cleanups, including UST corrective action
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submittals; interact directly with state/federal regulators
- Manage schedules, budgets, and subcontractors on assigned projects
- Help grow existing client relationships and contribute to the firm's long-term direction
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- PA Professional Engineer (P.E.) license — required
- 10+ years of environmental consulting experience
- Deep knowledge of PA UST regulations, Act 2, and corrective action
Preferred Experience
- CERCLA/Superfund or Brownfield/due diligence work
- Groundwater/soil investigations and remediation design
- PFAS multi-state regulatory experience
- Business development with clients
