- Construction Control Inspector
Description
This position is with the Office of Environmental Health & Engineering Area, District or Field Office and reports to a Supervisory Engineer. The Construction Control Inspector will assist engineering staff with technical duties related to the construction of design, construction, as-built development of individual and community water supply, wastewater disposal and solid waste disposal facilities.
This position will be located in one of the locations identified and will be responsible for duties such as:
Performing construction inspection and ensure compliance with contracted plans and specification for community and individual water supply.
Observing worksite and work activity to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintaining a daily log of projects and record facts concerning work activity.Performing surveys for project designs, construction staking and as-builts.
Preparing project reports and spreadsheets to track submittals, quantities installed, construction progress and payments.
Reviewing project plans prior to contract advertisement to determine practicability.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-7 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience reviewing construction schedules, comparing contractor's claimed progress and daily activities to actual site conditions; and preparing and submitting progress reports of work activities.
OR,
One full year of graduate level education in a field of study directly related to the work of the position.
OR,
a combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
