Midwestern University College of Health Sciences invites applications for the administrative position of Associate Program Director to oversee the new Nurse Anesthesia program at Midwestern University, Downers Grove campus. Qualified candidates for the Associate Program Director will be doctorally prepared CRNAs (from an accredited agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education at the time the degree was conferred) who are experientially qualified to assist the CRNA Program Director and assume leadership responsibilities for the program. The Associate Director must have a current license or privilege to practice as a registered professional nurse and/or APRN in the state or territory of jurisdiction of the program and must have a current certification or current recertification by the NBCRNA. The Associate Director must also demonstrate knowledge of environmental issues that may influence the program and nurse anesthesia practice by engaging in professional development.
The University seeks an individual with leadership, vision, and creativity that demonstrates:
Understanding of higher education, with a focus on recruitment of students
Experience in clinical practice and experience with the recruitment of rotation sites and clinical preceptors/supervisors
Understanding of curricular design, implementation, and evaluation
Ability to manage faculty and support faculty development and scholarship
Excellent communication skills
A vision of the current and projected state of practice in Nurse Anesthesiology
Knowledge of and experience with strategic planning
An ability to manage human and fiscal resources
A commitment to lifelong learning
The ideal candidate will have administrative experience, along with a record of teaching, research, and service. The salary and benefits are competitive and will be commensurate with experience and the responsibilities of this key position.
