The Environmental Analyst will collaborate with municipal leaders, water operators, local health departments and other stakeholders to develop source water protection plans and provide technical assistance during plan implementation. The incumbent will collect, review, summarize and analyze environmental data associated with the sources of public drinking water and potential contaminant sources, and develop recommendations in the form of technical and outreach materials for various audiences. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, geography, geology, geographic information systems, or related field. Must have knowledge of and experience with aspects of water quality and watershed management and experience working with a broad range of stakeholders in implementing environmental programs. Competence in statistical analysis of large data sets and in GIS required. The ability to work effectively with scientists, engineers, managers, the public, and the regulated community is essential.
