Description
The Wind Farm Technician is responsible for the onsite operations, maintenance, repairs and replacement of equipment at the commissioned Wind Power projects, with the objective of reaching maximum energy production potential.

Site: Chatham Wind Farm – Chatham-Kent, ON, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and maintain the wind farms’ electrical substation equipment, as well as the hydroelectric plant as required.
- Replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control components according to the manufacturer's specifications.
- Perform inspections and corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on equipment according to world-class standards.
- Implement best maintenance practices within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Maintain records of unplanned production shutdowns within the asset management system (PF-Drive).
- Support operations according to on-call rotation.
- Support operations in the replacement of major components with the manufacturer.
- Comply with all environmental health and safety programs related to worker and employer safety.
- Assist the supervisor in upgrading site-specific work procedures and instructions.
- Assist and participate in site visits by employees, business partners, and the general public (organizing visits, escorting visitors, ensuring visitor safety, etc.).
- Support operations via on-call rotation for both Balance of Plant and Turbine issues.
- Assist with tasks related to landowner property or related matters, as directed.
- Perform additional duties, as required.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- Renewable Energy or Electromechanical diploma or equivalent. Electronics/Mechanical Technologist/Engineer preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to climb 80 meter steel towers on a daily basis to perform maintenance in the nacelle and hub.
- Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs and occasionally lift items weighing up to 100 lbs.
- SGRE Maintenance Technician Certification or higher.
- GWO Work at Heights Certification.
- Computer skills: Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of maintenance systems and CMMS.
- Ability to interpret and follow various instructions provided in writing, orally, or in the form of diagrams or programs.
- Strong writing skills to meet reporting requirements.
- Willingness to work according to a schedule, including overtime, some holidays, and weekends upon request and on short notice.
- Ability to work in extremely adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to work with low and medium voltages and near high voltage.
- Knowledge of maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., multimeter, hydraulic torque wrench, alignment tools, and various hand and power tools).
- Valid drivers license.
- Ability to use a forklift preferred.
