Rain Bird is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for our Tucson, AZ facility. This Process Engineer III will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing plastic injection molding processes. This role focuses on increasing efficiency, reducing costs, improving quality, and supporting new product introductions within Rain Bird’s manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
Collaborate with design engineering and quality teams on new product introductions (NPI).
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
Support equipment selection, installation, and validation.
Troubleshoot process-related issues and provide technical support to production teams.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality and process issues.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
5 + years of experience in process plastic injection molding manufacturing, planning and/or operations.
Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills
Successful track record of Achievements
Skilled in PC applications and ERP systems experience
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Skillful managing sense of urgency
Team oriented individuals.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing tools (FMEA, PFMEA, SPC, etc.)
RJG Certification
10 + years of relative experience
Fluent in English and Spanish
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
