What You’ll Do
As a Gas Design Project Manager (GDPM), you’ll play a key role in designing, planning, and delivering natural gas infrastructure projects that support system growth, reliability, and customer satisfaction. You’ll manage projects from concept through completion—ensuring designs meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and system integrity standards.

You will:

• Lead the design and project management of new gas distribution facilities and system upgrades.
• Conduct feasibility studies, load analysis, and system modeling (Synergee/Stoner).
• Prepare designs, cost estimates, construction plans, permits, easements, and rightofway documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, municipalities, FDOT, and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinate construction schedules, maintain communication with customers, and support regulatory inquiries.
• Mentor Gas Design Technicians and provide technical leadership on complex projects.
• Support system planning, strategic expansions, and system integrity work.

Who You’ll Work With
You’ll collaborate daily with engineering, operations, construction, real estate, GIS/mapping, permitting, and customer teams. Externally, you’ll work with contractors, developers, plumbers, engineers, municipalities, FDOT, regulatory agencies, and residential/commercial customers.

Work Environment

• Standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime for customer deadlines and storm response.
• Mix of office and field work in varying weather conditions.
• Physical activity includes walking rough terrain and lifting up to 50 lbs with proper PPE.

Requirements

What You Need 

• Associate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Applied Science, Business, or related field. 
• 8+ years of progressive technical experience in utility design, construction, or engineering.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Strong project leadership, communication, and customerfacing skills.
• Working knowledge of natural gas systems, quality standards, codes, and industry practices.

What Will Set You Apart

• Florida Underground Utility Contractor license, MOT certification, or Fuel Transmission & Distribution certification.
• Experience as a GDT III or equivalent.
• Proven success managing multiple complex gassystem projects.
