We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Services to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in setting up and managing EHS safety programs across our client sites. In addition, they will be responsible for training our internal employees and ensuring that our lab services team diligently maintains EHS compliance at client sites.
Job Requirements
Provide training and education to internal employees on EHS responsibilities and best practices
Ensure that all VFP team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain EHS compliance in their respective roles
Lead the establishment and management of comprehensive EHS safety programs across client sites
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Conduct risk assessments and inspections at client sites, develop remediation plans, and drive preventative and corrective actions as needed
Maintain a thorough understanding of current and evolving environmental, health, and safety regulations through ongoing training and professional development
Serve as a liaison to government agencies, building and sustaining relationships with local and state authorities to ensure compliance across multiple city jurisdictions
Establishment and maintenance of EHS permits and licenses in compliance with federal, State, and Local regulations
Foster strong client relationships addressing all needs and concerns promptly and effectively
Coordinate and facilitate client safety committees
Conduct regular audits to verify internal employee compliance
Coordinate specialized training such as RCRA, DOT, IATA, OSHA HAZWOPER
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required (Biology, Chemistry, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health)
Minimum of 5 years of direct Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) experience in a Laboratory setting
Certified Biosafety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
Extensive knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
Strong management and leadership skills with experience in building and leading teams
Highly organized with strong prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Comfortable working in both an independent and collaborative environment
Due to the need to travel between multiple client sites, a vehicle is required for this role
The salary range for this position is up to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
