The new faculty member will teach and develop curricula for upper division courses in the candidate’s area of expertise in addition to introductory and general chemistry courses. They will develop and maintain an independent and externally funded research program involving undergraduate students and contribute as appropriate to mentoring MS students in the MS Materials Science or MS Environmental Science programs. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in service-related activities at all levels of this institution.
The new faculty member must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population. They will work effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines. In addition, they are encouraged to develop and participate in activities that support the University’s strategic plan.
Requirements
A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field is required, and postdoctoral experience is preferred.
Research expertise and experience should be in an area of inorganic and/or physical chemistry, with an interest in materials science as a plus.
University-level teaching experience is preferred.
