We are seeking an experienced Regional General Manager to oversee our Kansas City courses. At this time, this includes 11 properties mostly located in Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO, with a few in Wichita, KS and Lake of the Ozarks. As a result, this position will be expected to travel overnight approximately 20% of the time and will be based out of our Kansas City corporate office located in Lenexa, KS.

Salary: $110K to $160K Annually based on education and experience
Position Summary
The Regional General Manager (RGM) provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial accountability for multiple golf courses and country club facilities within the designated region. This role bridges corporate strategy and property-level execution, ensuring that each property maximizes revenue, maintains pristine course conditions, delivers exceptional guest experiences, and develops high-performing teams. The RGM works directly with on-site General Managers to implement standard operating procedures, drive membership growth, and safeguard company assets.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Operations & Strategic Leadership
- Operational Oversight: Conduct weekly site visits to evaluate course conditions, clubhouse operations, food and beverage performance, and retail merchandise standards.
- Policy Implementation: Standardize and enforce company policies, preventative maintenance programs, and safety guidelines across all regional properties.
- Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with federal, state, and local laws, including liquor licensing, health department codes, and environmental regulations.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee regional procurement, manage third-party vendor contracts, and negotiate agreements.
Financial Performance & Revenue Generation
- Financial Accountability: Oversee the development and execution of annual operating budgets, capital expenditure plans, and financial forecasts for all properties.
- Revenue Strategy: Collaborate with sales and marketing team and course management to design effective marketing plans, dynamic pricing structures, and tournament/event sales strategies to maximize yield.
- Expense Control: Monitor weekly and monthly labor and operational expenses, analyzing variances and implementing swift corrective actions to protect profit margins.
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial and operational reports to executive leadership on regional performance and market trends.
Leadership & Talent Management
- Mentorship & Support: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate on-site General Managers, helping them build cohesive leadership teams at their respective facilities.
- HR Support: Assist property managers with Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, performance reviews, onboarding, and resolving complex employee relations issues.
- Training Initiatives: Implement regional training programs focused on hospitality standards, agronomic best practices, and golf management software tools.
Guest & Member Experience
- Quality Assurance: Guarantee that all properties deliver a consistently high-quality customer experience that elevates the brand's reputation.
- Community & Member Relations: Engage with advisory boards, homeowners' associations (HOAs), and club committees to address concerns and foster strong community ties.
- Issue Resolution: Act as an escalation point for complex guest or member service issues, responding rapidly with solutions that ensure long-term satisfaction.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive management experience in golf course operations in both private and public sectors, with a proven track record of regional oversight.
- Industry Certifications: PGA Class A Membership or Club Management Association of America (CMAA) certification is highly preferred.
- Financial Acumen: Advanced skills in budgeting, P&L analysis, financial forecasting, and cost control management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with golf management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge and proficiency with Lightspeed and Club Caddie a plus.
- Travel: Ability to travel throughout the designated region for regular property site visits.
- Schedule: Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by seasonal demands.
Physical Effort
- Mobility: Frequently required to stand, walk, hike, and sit for extended periods. Regular walking over uneven terrain, long distances, and throughout expansive golf course grounds is required during property inspections.
- Lifting & Handling: Frequently required to lift, move, or carry items weighing up to 25 pounds (e.g., promotional materials, tournament supplies, office files) and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
