Louisiana Tech University seeks an experienced and innovative academic leader to serve as Dean of the College of Applied and Natural Sciences. The College offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Biology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and Health Informatics and Information Management and undergraduate programs in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Environmental Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Business, Forestry, and Geographic Information Science. The Dean will provide strategic leadership, vision, and management in support of excellence in the College’s teaching, research, and service mission. The Dean will have the opportunity to lead the College by strategically integrating its wide variety of departments in their collaborative efforts that enhance the academic experiences of our students and faculty.
Louisiana Tech University is located in Ruston, LA and is ranked as the #1 public university in Louisiana by Niche. Overall Louisiana Tech enrolls on average 12,000 students in a diverse range of high-quality programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The College of Applied and Natural Sciences is the second largest college with approximately 2000 students. The College includes a 1,500-acre Tech Farm with greenhouses, animal units, and sales room, a Speech and Hearing Center, the new Forest Products Innovation Center, and multiple research labs.
The Dean will lead a team to advance and implement the University’s strategic plan that focuses on academic and professional excellence, research and innovative partnerships, and an integrated environment enabling an unparalleled learning experience. This individual must have a strong commitment to development efforts and provide documented experiences with accreditation processes. This position requires a demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, students, staff, alumni, community stakeholders and industry partners.
Applicants must have a terminal degree from an accredited institution in a discipline offered in the College. The successful candidate must have the qualifications and accomplishments, which include demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and service with distinction in at least one of those areas to earn tenure at full professor rank in a discipline offered in the College. Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience at the department or college level, including personnel management, is required.
