Responsibilities
As the Principal Engineer for Water Infrastructure, you will oversee and guide a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, and support staff to deliver high-quality water infrastructure and treatment projects throughout Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and eastern New York. Your role will involve collaborating closely with professionals across the eastern seaboard, actively engaging with clients to understand their needs, developing new project opportunities, and ensuring client satisfaction. You will lead business development initiatives, including proposal development, interviews and presentations along with helping to ensure project delivery.
Qualifications
What you'll do:
Will be responsible for developing and managing municipal, commercial, and industrial Water Infrastructure and Treatment, planning and design projects in Connecticut, western Massachusetts and eastern New York.
Lead business development initiatives by proactively identifying, pursuing and securing new project opportunities through established and new client relationships, market sector awareness.
Participate in competitive pursuits such as proposal development, interviews and presentations.
Collaborate with regional leadership to develop strategies for market expansion and revenue growth.
Mentor and guide project teams in business development best practices, including client engagement, proposal preparation and strategic positioning for new work. Foster a culture of growth and innovation within the team.
Expected to be flexible in terms of handling multiple assignments. Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure client satisfaction, repeat business and long-term partnership.
Participate in company sponsored training programs, seminars, and conferences as may be necessary.
Collaborate with other design and study teams to improve our ability to respond to client needs.
Supervise, train, and mentor staff.
Participate in professional organizations and technical committees.
Travel will be required.

What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental engineering, with preference for Masters' degree. An emphasis on Water Infrastructure and/or Treatment preferred.
15 or more years of related engineering experience, and registration as a Professional Engineer in Connecticut, or with the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Strong knowledge of the public water infrastructure market in Connecticut, western Massachusetts and eastern New York, with the ability to identify emerging trends and opportunities for growth.
Particularly important are strong working relationships with local clients.
Proven track record in business development, including successful pursuit of new work, proposal leadership and revenue generation. Experience in setting priorities, shaping processes and building strategic partnerships is highly desirable.
Exemplary communication skills, including verbal, written, and public presentation domains.
Working proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Adept at interpersonal relationship skills, conflict resolution, team leadership, and presentations.
Possessing high ethical standards, committed to producing high quality deliverables, and a commitment to teamwork, respect, and integrity.
Valid driver's license required
Salary Range: $158,000 - $204,000 depending on experience
