What You Will Do:
- Lead and support design of tunnels, shafts, and related underground structures
- Perform geotechnical and structural analyses, including ground-structure interaction and lining design
- Prepare plans, specifications, and technical reports for municipal tunneling projects
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver creative and constructible solutions
- Support clients during the full project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, risk assessments, and construction support
- Develop cost estimates, schedules, and technical documentation
- Maintain open and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
- Stay current with evolving tunneling technologies, codes, and standards
- Play a critical role in the planning and design of underground infrastructure that supports our clients
- Contribute directly to water, wastewater, stormwater, and transportation systems, ensuring resilient and efficient infrastructure for communities
- Serve as a technical lead or client manager, representing WSB in high-profile infrastructure programs or projects
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE), or ability to obtain within six months
- 5+ years of experience in tunneling design, underground structures, or related projects
- Knowledge of tunneling methods (TBM, SEM/NATM, microtunneling, cut-and-cover, etc.
- Experience with design tools such as PLAXIS, FLAC, GeoStudio, or STAAD
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
- Experience supporting infrastructure projects (water, wastewater, utilities, transportation)
- Hands-on exposure to construction support and monitoring for tunneling projects
- Familiarity with project permitting and funding sources
- Ability to work 40 hours a week
- Ability to work in the posted locations
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment, occasional travel or field visits may be required to support
