Job Duties
The National Summer Transportation Institute Teacher at Morgan State University is responsible for delivering educational content and facilitating activities related to transportation and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) for middle and high school students participating in the National Summer Transportation Institute program. This role aims to inspire and educate students about careers in transportation and related fields. Duties:
Curriculum Delivery:
- Teach pre-developed lessons on various transportation topics, including engineering, logistics, safety, and environmental impact.
- Ensure that the curriculum is engaging and accessible to students from diverse backgrounds.
Student Engagement:
- Create a dynamic and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation and interest in transportation careers.
- Facilitate hands-on activities, field trips, and projects that complement classroom instruction.
Program Coordination:
- Collaborate with program coordinators and other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Participate in the planning and execution of program activities, including logistics and scheduling.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their learning objectives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching methods and materials, providing suggestions for improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and inclusive manner.
- Adhere to university policies and program guidelines.
Requested Minimum Qualifications
Education:
The successful candidate must have achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in STEM is required.
