Description
GA Foods is seeking a qualified individual to lead the utility cleaning crew and perform and direct various cleaning tasks plant wide.
The Utility/Sanitation Lead will be responsible for helping the Sanitation Supervisor to include being responsible for ensure that the Sanitation department team members maintain a clean operation and proper sanitation of service articles and equipment.
This position oversees all tasks performed by the sanitation/utility workers and help the supervisor on checking the status of the facilities and ensuring that the company is compliant with all cleaning and safety standards, also help team members with support on cleaning tasks as necessary.
The Utility/Sanitation Lead will be a candidate with a proven outstanding attendance record who is looking to grow with a company.
Utility/Sanitation Worker Responsibilities, Including but not Limited To:
- Lead the utility cleaning crew and perform and direct various cleaning tasks plant wide.
- Assigns tasks to staff, check and inspect work areas and helps the Sanitation supervisor and team members.
- Performs equipment cleaning, dishwashing, general cleaning, scrubbing, floor cleaning, restroom cleaning and other related work in keeping the plant, offices and grounds clean using in-house cleaning equipment, aids, and preparations.
- Maintain cleanliness and follow proper sanitation procedures for food preparation equipment, coolers, freezers, sinks, restrooms, dish room, general work areas and dock, waste (outside garbage)
- Assist kitchen staff with packing and portioning of meals as needed.
- Prepares and cleans dock area as needed throughout the workday, compacts trash and cardboard, empties, sprays, and pushes transporter warmers to pot room, cleans parking areas and ground.
- Participate in company-required training.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Utility/Sanitation Worker Requirements:
- Demonstrate Leadership experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment - Required.
- Prior Sanitation/Janitorial experience
- Proficiency with software applications such as: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Required
- Experience with use of floor scrubber, foaming equipment, and pressure washer.
- Familiar with OSHA, GMP's, Food Safety, and HACCP programs
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements.
- Understanding of Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Personnel, Health, Safety and Environmental compliance. (Preferred)
- It is required to work a full-time scheduled shift from 12:30 pm to 11:00p, overtime and weekends.
