- Regulatory Stormwater Field Technician
Description
This position supports the Regulatory Division in implementing and enforcing CRWD Rules to protect the water resources of the District. The Regulatory Stormwater Field Technician performs inspection of active construction sites to ensure compliance with erosion and sediment control requirements and proper construction and function of permanent stormwater management practices. The Technician will also provide technical assistance in the implementation of the District’s permittee post-construction permanent stormwater BMP inspection program.
Requirements
General

Proficiency with a personal computer (PC), tablet, and Microsoft software packages for word processing, spreadsheet, database management, and computer-generated graphics including, but not limited to, Microsoft 365 suite. The ability to effectively use email and internet applications and other common software applications.

Takes direction from supervisor and colleagues, works successfully with some independence and uses good time management skills.
Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license
Technical and Policy
Knowledge of watershed management, hydrology, soil science, wetlands, and natural resource management.
Knowledge of green infrastructure and stormwater BMP planning, design, and construction.
Demonstrated ability to learn local and state-wide stormwater rules and erosion/sediment control permitting requirements.
Demonstrated ability to learn standard procedures and follow written and oral instructions to accomplish technician duties.
Demonstrated ability to learn how to review and interpret construction drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
Ability to obtain certification through the University of Minnesota Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification Program within the first 6 months of employment, pending course offerings.
