- Regional Forest Health Coordinator
Description
The Regional Forest Health Coordinator leads Placer County’s forest management and wildfire prevention efforts, working across environmental stewardship, public policy, and community safety from the valley floor to the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe. Under the Director of Agriculture, Parks, and Natural Resources, the role manages key forest health programs, oversees staff and resources, sets objectives, and supports Countywide priorities as part of the Department Management Team. The coordinator also serves as a liaison with federal, state, and local partners, advises County leadership on forest-related issues, and leads grant coordination, wildlife mitigation, and collaborative, long-term forest health strategies.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, strategic leader with experience in public administration, environmental policy, or forest health management and a passion for wildfire resilience. They have a proven ability to manage complex programs, lead teams, and work across agencies and stakeholders, while building strong partnerships and advising leadership. With strong analytical and communication skills, they translate complex issues into actionable strategies and excel at coordinating large-scale initiatives, including grant efforts, to advance innovative solutions that protect communities, natural resources, and infrastructure.
