Job Purpose and Impact
The Equipment Operator II will perform tasks of a substantial variety or complexity, which require knowledge of operating small and large equipment in various environments with moderate skills and some guidance. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of a variety of heavy equipment while following all regulations.
Key Accountabilities
- Communicate daily with supervisor or lead to contribute to determining the work schedule and flow for the workday.
- Operate 3 or 4 pieces of equipment on site with confidence and accuracy.
- Operate equipment efficiently and safely with some supervisor oversight and direction on most terrains and in all conditions.
- Know and perform daily equipment inspections, prior to operation, to ensure equipment is safe and fully functional and diagnose issues on the equipment.
- Understand and communicate with equipment hand signals for safe operating in occupied zones or areas.
- Understand and adhere to all of the environmental regulations of the site and ensures their work site is cleaned up after completion of the task.
- Observe and follow all safety regulations and rules for each piece of equipment being operated.
