Description
The Natural Resources Research Institute (NRRI) in Coleraine is seeking an experienced Operating Labs Supervisor to lead and support multidisciplinary research laboratory operations. This role oversees a team of 10+ research technicians working across minerals processing, metallurgy, materials, and bioeconomy programs, while partnering closely with researchers to plan projects, allocate resources, and ensure safe, efficient operations. The supervisor plays a key role in advancing a strong culture of safety, compliance, and collaboration, while managing lab operations, equipment, and asset lifecycles, and site-wide safety, health, and environmental programs. This is a fully onsite position offering a salary range of $72,425.60 to $93,000 annually, depending on qualifications. Candidates should bring a combination of education and experience equivalent to at least nine years, along with strong leadership, communication, and experience working in regulated, safety-focused environments.What you'll be doing:
(60%) Team Leadership, Workforce Development, and Resource Allocation (20%) Safety, Health, Environmental, and Emergency Preparedness
(20%) Site Maintenance and Asset Management
What you'll need:
BA/BS with at least nine years of relevant experience, or advanced degree plus at least three years of relevant experience, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal nine years.
Demonstrated experience working in environments with strong safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Experience managing and allocating resources to teams working across multiple projects, facilities, or operational areas.
Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
