Overview
Lutron Electronics is seeking a proactive, peoplefocused Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Leader to support our growing operations in Austin, TX. In this highimpact role, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs that ensure regulatory compliance and foster a strong culture of safety throughout our manufacturing, engineering, and distribution facilities. As a key member of Lutron's global HSE team, you will help shape and maintain our worldwide HSE management system while tailoring bestinclass practices to the unique needs of our Austin sites. Your deep knowledge of health and safety regulations paired with your ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with employees at all levels will be essential in driving adoption of safe work practices, reducing risk, and ensuring a secure and supportive workplace for every team member.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site HSE management system.
- Foster a strong safety culture through employee engagement in reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Partner with site leadership and cross-functional teams to integrate HSE into daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations and policy changes.
- Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs that meet regulatory requirements and build site capability.
- Conduct routine inspections, audits, and observations to ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.
- Drive proactive hazard identification, risk mitigation, and safety reviews for equipment and processes.
- Serve as primary liaison for regulatory agencies, inspections, permitting, and environmental programs.
- Champion sustainability initiatives and support Lutron's environmental and corporate responsibility goals.
- Maintain accurate HSE reporting, metrics, and scorecards to support audits, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2year technical degree required, bachelor's degree s preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in HSE management; preferably in manufacturing, R&D, or warehouse operations.
- ISHS (Industrial Safety and Health Specialist) or regional equivalent preferred, demonstrating advanced safety expertise.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or regional equivalent preferred, highlighting commitment to professional excellence in HSE.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, RCRA, TCEQ Code Compliance, and all relevant regulations governing safe and compliant plant operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical safety principles and their application in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
- Knowledge of ergonomic best practices, with the ability to identify risks and implement improvements that protect employee health and wellbeing.
