Compensation:$25 - $30 hourly
Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks to prevent equipment downtime and extend lifespan.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately for future reference.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices to enhance service quality.
- Manage inventory of tools and parts to ensure availability for timely repairs.
- Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record. (CDL preferred)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- High school diploma or equivalent (postsecondary education in diesel engine repair preferred)
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) and their components
- Proficiency in utilizing diagnostic equipment and specialized tools
- ASE certifications are often preferred or may be required within a certain timeframe
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle tasks involving heavy lifting, working in tight spaces, and using various tools
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills
