Responsibilities
The golf course superintendent manages labor, time, materials and finances in a manner that is compatible with the environment, meets financial goals and serves our customer and client.
As superintendent at Santa Barbara Golf Club, you will communicate with employees, owners, customers, vendors, suppliers, golf professionals and others in the golf industry. The superintendent also educates community groups about golf course and turfgrass management.
The superintendent embodies the company core value of Environmental Stewardship through conservation, regeneration, restoration and sustainable practices.
CourseCo, Inc is seeking a Class A Golf Course Superintendent for the Santa Barbara Golf Club located in Santa Barbara, CA. SBGC is a year-round, 18-hole regulation par-70 golf course with sweeping views of the Santa Ynez foothills. The golf course consists of cool and warm season grasses (Greens- Poa/Bent, Tees/Fairways- P. Rye/Kikuyu/Bermuda).
A minimum of 2 years of experience as Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent required.
Duties: Effectively manage a maintenance budget of $1.5M inclusive of labor and materials while delivering an exceptional golfing experience. Achieve 100% compliance with the City of Santa Barbara IPM Strategy and PHAER Zone Model.
Experience: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Excellent people skills A MUST: you will interface with the City, Golf Committees, and the community. Excels in time management. Organized manager that leads by example.
Compensation/Benefits: Annual Salary $120-$135K, Health Insurance, Vacation and Sick leave, Cell phone, Golfing Privileges, GCSAA Membership and approved education.
