About the Role

The Golf Course Superintendent oversees all aspects of golf course maintenance, including staff leadership, agronomic programs, resource management, budgeting, and environmental initiatives. This position requires a balance of operational excellence, ecological awareness, and outstanding communication skills.

CourseCo, Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead maintenance operations for The Golf Club at Rio Vista-an 18-hole, year-round championship course designed by renowned architect Ted Robinson Sr., and recognized multiple times by Golf Digest as a "Best Places to Play" destination.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all golf course maintenance, including clubhouse landscaping and the entrance road
• Oversee budgeting, purchasing, and equipment maintenance
• Direct fertilizer and pesticide applications
• Manage trees, water features, and lake systems
• Lead efforts toward Audubon Certification and community outreach
• Communicate effectively with staff, ownership, vendors, golf professionals, and community members
• Educate local groups about turfgrass and environmental management

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Golf Course Superintendent
• Degree in turf management (2- or 4-year) preferred
• Strong agronomic expertise, people management, and water management skills
• Experience maintaining Poa annua/bentgrass greens and Bermuda/Rye fairways
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to build relationships and manage diverse stakeholders
• Spanish language skills preferred
• Passion for sustainability and environmental best practices

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $90,000-$110,000 DOE
