Fundraising & Development Manager
Full-Time | Second Chances Wildlife Center
Position Overview
The Fundraising & Development Manager is a full-time position responsible for securing financial support to sustain and expand the mission of Second Chances Wildlife Center. This role focuses primarily on individual donor engagement and corporate sponsorships, building long-term relationships that ensure stable and growing support for the care and release of injured and orphaned wildlife.
Key Responsibilities
Donor & Corporate Fundraising
Develop and manage annual fundraising plans with a strong focus on individual giving, major donors, and corporate
sponsorships
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, major gift prospects, and corporate partners
Design and lead donor-centered fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, recurring giving programs, and
targeted major gift efforts
Build customized sponsorship opportunities and partnership packages for corporate supporters
Donor Relations & Stewardship
Manage and grow a robust donor pipeline, from first-time donors to long-term supporters
Oversee donor stewardship, recognition, and retention strategies
Maintain accurate donor records and reporting using donor database/CRM systems
Collaborate with staff to gather compelling impact stories and outcomes for donor communications
Events & Engagement
Plan and execute donor cultivation and stewardship events, including behind-the-scenes tours, sponsor recognition
events, and community fundraisers
Support board members, staff, and volunteers in donor outreach and relationship-building efforts
Communications & Outreach
Work with internal teams to develop donor-focused messaging for newsletters, website, social media, and fundraising
materials
Represent the organization at community events, business meetings, and networking opportunities
Grants & Supplemental Funding
Identify and pursue select grant opportunities that complement donor and sponsorship revenue
Assist in preparation of grant proposals and reports as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of two years of professional experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or a related field
Demonstrated success in individual giving, donor cultivation, or corporate sponsorship development
Strong interpersonal communication, and relationship-building skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Passion for wildlife conservation, Environmental Education, and mission-driven work
Experience with donor databases/CRM systems and standard office software
Preferred Experience
Experience securing or managing corporate sponsorships or major gifts
Experience with wildlife, Environmental Education, animal welfare, or conservation organizations
Experience with fundraising events or donor engagement programming
Schedule & Work Environment
Full-time position (40 hours/week)
Occasional evenings and weekends for donor meetings and events
Combination of office, remote, and on-site work at the center

Requirements
Requirements and experience preferences above. A lot of the work is remote with offsite meetings and occasional events. Base salary with potential for bonuses.
