- Environmental Technician II (Seasonal/Temporary)
Description
Normandeau Associates, Inc., an employee-owned environmental consulting firm specializing in water and natural resources issues, has positions available for temporary Environmental Technicians at our Peach Bottom, PA office for a ground-based angler creel survey on the Delaware River and tributaries from the Delaware Memorial Bridge (river mile 60) to Trenton, New Jersey (river mile 134.5).
BASIC PURPOSE
Interviewing sport anglers at boat launches and shore fishing sites, examining their catch, recording data, and participating in occasional survey team meetings.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Interview anglers following a scripted form at boat launches and shoreline fishing areas.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail
Ability to follow a script from an electronic form.
Represents Company well.
Adheres to all Company health and safety policies.
DISTINGUISHING FACTORS
Skill
Fish handling and identification skills are .
Capable of learning to open, properly fill, and upload a tablet-based field form
Working Conditions
Requires performing regular job functions in an environment which may include
exposure to a variety of working conditions (rain, cold, heat, etc.).
Flexible shifts (up to 8 hours, morning or afternoon) including weekends and holidays.
Independent Action
Work independently following predetermined routes with some flexibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school graduate or G.E.D.
Experience preferred but not required.
Requirements
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transportation for commuting to multiple locations within a given day (predetermined routes).
Mileage and toll reimbursement.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS
Must maintain a professional appearance appropriate for assigned duties and responsibilities.
Bilingual a plus.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
