Description
LimnoTech has an opportunity for an environmental engineer to help us serve our clients in the areas of site investigation and remediation. The selected candidate will work in our Ann Arbor, MI headquarters.
The environmental engineer filling this position will primarily work on projects involving investigation and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediment contamination. Typical job responsibilities include the following, depending on individual ability, skills, and experience:
- Planning & implementing site investigations for contaminants such as PFAS, VOCs, PCBs, and metals
- Compiling, reviewing and synthesizing soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water data from site investigations
- Helping screen and select site remediation approaches, including interacting with vendors and contractors to obtain technical and cost information, planning and implementing bench scale and field scale studies,
- Preparing conceptual and final designs for remediation/mitigation
- Regulatory compliance activities including permitting and reporting
- Oversight of contractors implementing remediation
- Preparing written deliverables and project-related presentations
- Supporting project managers in coordinating project activities and eventually taking on project management responsibilities
- Presenting project findings and results to clients, regulators, and project partners
The engineer’s level of responsibility in this position will depend on the individual’s level of experience, maturity, and capability. Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university program is required.
- A current Michigan professional engineer (P.E.) license or the ability to become licensed in the future.
- Some environmental consulting experience related to the responsibilities outlined above is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong analytical and computational abilities.
