Summary
Responsible for operating vehicles for the purpose of transporting passengers and assisting with custodial maintenance functions of the vehicle as required.
Essential Functions
1. Drives center vehicles.
2. Maintains center vehicles in a clean and safe manner.
3. Performs accurate and timely recording and reporting.
4. Transports non-residential students to and from the center.
5. Transports students to and from work-based learning (WBL) and off-center training, activities, and medical/dental appointments.
6. Transports students to and from the center's designated arrival point using government-paid transportation.
7. Models, mentors, and monitors the positive normative culture of the center.
8. Acts as a responsible custodian for the assigned center property.
9. Reports violations of unethical behavior.
10. Suggests opportunities for continuous operational improvement and reduction of waste.
11. Identifies and reports environmental health and safety concerns.
12. Able to maintain a 75% or higher on employee scorecard.

Required Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience as a driver
Certifications/Competencies
• General knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
• Ability to maintain a vehicle mechanically.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Preferred but not required
• Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people road, including the relative costs and benefits
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
• Ability to promote the Career Success Standards (CSS) by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Eligibility Qualifications
• A valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required.
• I-9 documentation required to verify authorization to work in the United States
• Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug test.
