Salary: Commensurate with experience, up to $175,000 annually
The County of Hawaii’s Office of the Corporation Counsel is seeking qualified applicants for Deputy Corporation Counsel positions in both our Counseling & Drafting Section and Litigation Section.
Applicants must be licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Hawaii. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative work environment and possesses strong oral advocacy, writing, and legal research skills.
Counseling & Drafting Section: This position advises County departments, boards, and commissions on a variety of legal matters. Responsibilities include reviewing and drafting contracts, agreements, and legislation. Knowledge of contract drafting, administrative or municipal law, and open meetings and public records laws is required.
Litigation Section: This position serves as first chair in defending the County in a broad range of civil matters, including personal injury, contract disputes, civil rights claims, and environmental cases.
