Salary: Pay to commensurate with experience up to $150,000.00
The County of Hawaii, Office of the Corporation Counsel seeks applicants for Deputy Corporation Counsel positions in our counseling & drafting and litigation sections.
Applicants must be a self-starter, enjoy a collaborative work environment and be licensed and in good standing to practice law in Hawaii. Strong oral, written and legal research skills are required. Environmental law experience is preferred but not required.
The counseling & drafting position involves advising assigned County departments, boards and commissions. In addition to advising, the position involves review and drafting agreements and legislation. Knowledge of contract drafting, administrative or municipal law, and open meetings and public records laws is required.
The civil litigation deputy will step in as first chair to defend the county in a variety of topic areas, including, personal injury, contracts, civil rights, and environmental cases.
