Description
Are you starting out in water distribution or wastewater collection or interested in bringing your current experience to the Public Works team? The Incline Village GID is now hiring a Collection/Distribution OIT/Op I-III (hiring for one position based on experience and certs). Located on Lake Tahoe’s north shore, IVGID provides water, sewer, trash and recreation (golf, parks & rec, ski) for Incline Village and Crystal Bay, Nevada.
Complete our Public Works team as an OIT – learn maintenance/repair of the District’s wastewater collection/water distribution systems & wetlands; and snow removal and on-call role once criteria/certs. met. Operator I - operates and maintains wastewater collection/water distribution systems & wetlands. Operator II - Operates and maintains the District's wastewater collection and water distribution systems and wetlands. May act as lead for snow removal crew operations at various District facilities. Intermediate level position. Operator III - Carries out skilled work in the installation and maintenance of the District's wastewater collection systems, water distribution systems; and wetlands facility; and oversees operators and multiple crew activities, by performing the following duties. This is a senior level position.
Rate for OIT $28.30-$39.62/hr DOE/DOQ or Op. I $34.43 - $48.21/hr DOE/DOQ or Op. II $37.57 - $52.59/hr DOE/DOQ or Op. III $40.62 - 56.87/hr DOE/DOQ including health insurance, Pension and Deferred Comp Retirement Plans, sick and vacation, short-term and long-term disability, twelve holidays, recreation & food/beverage privileges at District venues. Position OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
Requirements
OIT Requires: High School diploma (GED) and one-year heavy equipment or pipeline experience preferred. Good computer, math and customer service; able to work courteously and efficiently with the public and team. A valid Driver’s License and, within two years of employment, a valid Class B Commercial DL with tanker endorsement. This position has been identified as a Safety Sensitive and subject to random drug/alcohol testing. Obtain within one year from date of employment OSHA compliant Forklift License and Nevada Flagger certs and attend a 10-hour OSHA construction safety class. Obtain within twelve months from date of employment: Grade I Collection OIT cert (CWEA) and a Grade I OIT Distribution Cert AWWA or other approved agencies. Physical stamina to lift and/or move 50 – 100 lbs. Self-motivated & available for/able to assist on emergency callouts once criteria met & work overtime as required.
Operator I Requires: Meet OIT requirements including one year related experience with heavy equipment operation. Possess Grade I Collection cert (CWEA or NWEA) and Grade I Distribution (AWWA or NDEP). May require CCTV equipment cert.
Operator II Requires: Meet Operator I requirements including two years related experience with heavy equipment operation. Good lead skills and obtain within six months from date of employment OSHA compliant Forklift License, Nevada Flagger certs and 10 hour OSHA compliant safety course. Possess Grade II Collection cert (CWEA or NWEA) and Grade II Distribution cert (AWWA or NDEP).
Operator III Requires: Meet Operator II requirements including four years experience in operation, maintenance or construction of water collection and distribution systems, including heavy equipment operation. Lead responsibilities and obtain within 6 months from date of employment OSHA compliant Fork Lift License and Nevada Flagger certification and attend a 30 hour OSHA compliant construction safety course. Must possess Grade III Collection certification from California Water Environmental Association (CWEA) or Nevada Water Environmental Association (NWEA) and Grade III Distribution certification from American Water Works Association (AWWA) or State of Nevada Department of Environmental Protection (NDEP). May require Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment certification.
