The Role
2nd shift 3PM-11:30PM | Make an Impact in a Unique Environment
It takes a special kind of person to thrive in this role. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a correctional facility and able to follow strict security protocols, including working without a cell phone during shifts. They are able to work both independently and as part of a team while remaining calm, observant, and respectful in a structured environment. A valid State ID or California Driver's License is required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in inmate housing units, restrooms, and common areas
- Clean and disinfect inmate cells, restrooms, showers, and other high-touch surfaces to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of illness
- Handle and properly dispose of waste materials, including biohazardous or bodily fluids, following approved procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; promptly clean spills in offices and public areas.
- Maintain janitor's closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.
- Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.
What It Takes To Be Successful
- Ability to successfully pass the LA County Sheriffs background check process
- Must be able to read, write and communicate basic (40%) English skills
- 1+ years custodial cleaning experience or equivalent preferred
