The Role

Be a Vital Part of Creating a Safe HavenJoin our team as a Janitor/Custodian and play an essential role in supporting foster youth within our community. This full-time, regular schedule position (MondayFriday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM) is based at a residential foster care facility where cleanliness, safety, and consistency truly matter. 
WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Work in a temporary short-term care facility that provides services for foster children. 
• Provide janitorial services (cleaning restrooms, taking out the trash, etc.) to classrooms, a gym and cottages.  
Clean and disinfect common areas, offices, restrooms, and living spacesVacuum all rugs and carpeted areas in offices, lobbies, and corridors.
• Hand dust and wipe clean all office furniture, file cabinets, fixtures, paneling, windowsills, air-conditioning diffusers, wall grilles, and all other horizontal surfaces.
• Remove all finger marks and smudges from vertical surfaces, including doors, doorframes, light switches, private entrance glass, and partitions.
• Keep janitor's closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.  
• Sweep or dust mop hard floor surfaces. 
• Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.

What It Takes To Be Successful

• Ability to successfully complete Live Scan and obtain badge to work at the site 
• Proficient verbal/written communication skills 
• Problem solving skills
• Time management skills
• High school diploma or GED equivalent 
• 1+ years custodial cleaning experience or equivalent preferred
