About this role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing the financial and Human Resource operations of the organization, as well providing basic IT support and troubleshooting. Responsibilities also include providing strategic financial leadership and presenting clear and concise written and oral financial reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. The CFO serves on the Leadership team and also provides direct supervision to the Administrative Accounting Assistant and the Transportation & Maintenance Coordinator.

Key Requirements

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements financial strategies to support long-term objectives
Oversees all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis activities
Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory and/or contract & grant requirements
Leads annual audit and 990 tax return preparation and filing with external auditor
Prepares and submits payroll
Reviews all Accounts Payable
Prepares of journal entries
Fixed asset accounting, depreciation, reconciliations
Prepares and submits monthly invoicing for Accounts Receivable (revenue processing)
Prepares monthly and year to date financial reports to the Executive Director, Finance Committee and Board of Directors
Manages purchasing and expenditures to maximize cost savings
Monitors all contracts and grants as necessary
Assists in preparation of grant and contract proposals
Submits all IRS and State of Oklahoma compliance reports
Maintains and updates Accounting policies and procedures
Serves as Human Resources and Benefits Administrator representative for the organization (including 403b administration, PCORI fees to IRS, ACA reporting)
Maintains confidentiality of all agency and personnel records
Provides oversight of day-to-day IT needs, troubleshooting basic technology issues and coordinating with external IT provider for complex issues
Supervises Administrative Accounting Assistant and Transportation & Maintenance Coordinator
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Possesses a basic understanding of people impacted by incarceration and how to work with such individuals without enabling them
Possesses outstanding leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Possesses knowledge in all Human Resources functions including employee relations, recruitment, compensation, benefits and performance management
Possesses knowledge on evaluation, classification and accounting treatment of restricted and unrestricted grants and contributions
Demonstrates proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
Maintains a proper appearance, professional attitude and strong work ethic
Demonstrates a commitment to a faith-centered educational and job placement process
Demonstrates initiative and good judgment in interpreting and implementing guidelines and policies established by Executive Director and Board of Directors
Works effectively as a team member as well as independently
Demonstrates a cooperative attitude while working in demanding situations and with a diverse population
Demonstrates the ability to prepare and present clear and concise written and oral financial reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors

Education and Work Experience:
Education Required - Bachelor’s Degree
Work Experience - Ten years progressive Accounting (non-profit and government contracting) experience as well as three years Human Resources experience
