NORTECH is an Alaska-based Environment Engineering, Health & Safety consulting firm with offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to join our team in Anchorage or Fairbanks in a senior technical leadership role. Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead IH field investigations, sampling programs, and data interpretation
- Manage projects and client relationships independently with minimal oversight
- Prepare and deliver written and oral reports to clients and regulatory agencies
- Work with a broad range of A/E teams, contractors, owner-operators, and agencies
- Drive business development and contribute to proposal efforts
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff
- Occasional overnight travel within Alaska; remote camp rotations available for interested candidates
Requirements
Qualifications
- Active Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential required
- B.S. or M.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational & Environmental Health, or a related discipline
- 8+ years of progressively responsible IH consulting experience
- Demonstrated senior project management and responsible charge experience
- Established client relationships and Anchorage or Fairbanks market knowledge strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Technical Skill Areas
Candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following:
- Exposure monitoring and hazard assessment
- Safety and health plan development for construction, mining, oil & gas, and general industry
- OSHA compliance audits
- Lead and asbestos hazard inspection and abatement
- Noise evaluation and control
- Indoor and/or outdoor air quality investigations
- Hazardous waste site operations (HAZWOPER)
- Ergonomics, risk assessment, or toxicology
- Hazardous materials building assessment
Additional Certifications (Preferred)
ADEC Qualified Sampler, HAZWOPER, AHERA certifications, EPA/HUD lead-based paint, CHST, OHST, or other relevant specialty credentials.
