KWWL-TV (NBC, Eastern Iowa) is seeking an experienced, calm-under-pressure Broadcast Meteorologist (AM/Noon) to deliver accurate, engaging weather coverage across television, digital and social platforms. From tornadoes and severe thunderstorms to blizzards and flooding, our meteorologists play a critical role in keeping communities informed and safe across the 21 counties we serve.

Core Responsibilities

Forecast & Cover Severe Weather: Monitor, forecast and lead live coverage of tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flooding, winter storms and other significant weather events.

Data & Technology: Use statistical analysis, environmental modeling, large datasets and emerging machine learning/AI tools to develop accurate forecasts and identify developing threats.

Multiplatform Storytelling: Translate complex meteorological information into compelling, easy-to-understand stories for television, digital and social media.

Weather Reporting: Enterprise and report weather-related stories across Eastern Iowa, including climate, atmospheric and environmental topics.

Collaborate: Work with producers, reporters, photographers and other newsroom staff to deliver high-quality multiplatform coverage.
