Springfield College seeks applications for an Assistant Professor for Exercise Science within the Department of Sports Science. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership beginning August 2026. Expertise in the field, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a strong commitment to scholarly endeavors and service activities are expected.
We are seeking a faculty member with expertise in Sport Science and Exercise Physiology to teach courses that span both our undergraduate and graduate programs. Course topics may include technology use in strength and conditioning, data analytics, genetics, environmental physiology, sports nutrition, and strength and conditioning. Actual course assignments will vary based on expertise. Additional responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate internship supervision and/or academic advising, and research supervision for graduate students.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Earned Doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Exercise Physiology/Sports Science or closely related discipline. Applicants who are ABD for the terminal degree may be considered depending on the expected completion date.
- Ability to deliver a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate coursework in exercise physiology and sport science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A record of involvement in the American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association, or other similar professional organizations.
- Experience in sport science and exercise physiology research.
- Experience supervising student research.
- NSCA Certified Performance and Sport Scientist.
- Experience securing external funding or sponsorship.
